About
Hi! I am Marilyn
A little about me:
Ever since I was little, I can remember having tummy troubles and migraines.
In an effort to feel better as I grew older, I began cutting out entire food groups and become fearful of food. Eventually, I became a vegan. However, that chapter ended when I became jaundiced and felt even worse.
Thankfully, my passion for health, food, and animals helped me later discover regenerative farming, humane animal husbandry, the many benefits of raw milk, and learning how to ferment grains, veggies, and produce. My eyes were opened. And my body felt better.
The heart of of what would later become “farmomma” was born. My recipes lean a little more old-fashioned and use traditional food wisdom with modern tools (love my ice cream maker and Instapot, lol).
One recipe at a time, I hope to share a slice of farm-life with you all. Regardless of where you are in the world.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do you live on a farm?
I live on a small hobby farm with my husband and daughter. I did not grow up farming, gardening, or even cooking… so this is ALL new for me.
3. What are you hoping to cook next?
I would like to perfect making Pad See Ew from scratch (including the noodles, of course!)
2. What diet do you follow?
I don’t subscribe to any specific meal plan but I try to prepare and preserve my foods using traditional methods (soaking, fermenting, canning, and slow-cooking) and knowledge (but with modern equipment, of course!). If there’s anything I’m a stickler on, though, it’s buying organic (whenever possible)!
4. Who is your food or “made-from-scratch” inspiration?
’m not sure I have a single baker or chef that I look up to for inspiration. I find it everywhere. But my favorite cookbook is The Nordic Cookbook by Magnus Nilsson.
